Evan Spiegel sure knows to play Peek-a-boo with Camera. We all love Snapchat for the shared media being short-lived thereby freeing us from the stress of being judged, and of course the competition of counting the number of likes, favourites etc.
Snapchat Ideator has taken this thought bit further and debuted in the retail arena with the video recording glasses called “SPECTACLES“. The glasses will record the video in ‘circular motion’ which means it can be viewed in vertical and landscape mode video when viewing recorded footage. The invention is to make users free from holding the camera in front of them which Spiegel’s words “like a wall in front of your face”, while trying to capture the moment.
To make the experience more real, the hardware debut venture company has created world’s new camera which captures the human perspective with a 115 degree field of view. The camera has sensor which records the video in the lap of 10 seconds and shares directly on Snapchat via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. It directly gets saved with the memory section of App, in case you are not carrying your phone. The company has put the price around $130 ensuring pockets don’t come under the way of delightful experience.
The spectacles will be dressed in three colours: black, teal, and coral. They will be available in limited quantity sometime this fall. The battery will be charged in the chargeable cases for glasses. The company is ensuring that the expansion is on right direction by rebranding itself as Snap Inc. as they are no longer limited to App. If it holds true to the words stated, we will look forward to more S series from Snap Inc.. Snapchat, Spectacles… Awaiting the next!
